The Rev. Lisa McIndoo in the nave of Holy Apostles

A native of Memphis, Rev. Lisa began her video production and advertising career after earning her degree from the University of Memphis. She and her husband Bill founded Central Group, which they led until 2017. During this time, Lisa became more deeply involved in the Episcopal Church, particularly through youth programming at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral and board service at St. Columba. Feeling a call to the priesthood, she earned her Master of Divinity from The University of the South in Sewanee and was ordained in December 2016. Before joining Holy Apostles, she served as the Rector of St. Timothy’s in Mountain View, California. Rev. Lisa is passionate about missional engagement, preaching, teaching, and promoting inclusion to share the Good News with all.

Lisa and Bill are proud parents of three grown sons and one daughter-in-law. They live in Memphis with their rescue dogs.

Deacon

Rev. Gerri Endicot stands in the courtyard at Holy Apostles

Deacon Gerri, a lifelong Episcopalian and Memphis native, joined Holy Apostles in 2020. She was ordained as a Vocational Deacon in June 2018 through the ACTS program at The School of Theology at The University of the South. Before coming to Holy Apostles, she served at St. Thomas Church in Somerville, Tennessee. Gerri describes the role of a vocational deacon as embodying two ancient concepts: angels and waiters. Vocational deacons serve as messengers, proclaiming the good news of God in Christ and interpreting the world to the community of faith. They also oversee the sacrificial meal, serving in sacramental liturgies and among God’s poor. Gerri is a mortgage underwriter and lives in Oakland, Tennessee, with her husband Alan. They have two adult daughters, Tina and Jessica, a son-in-law, Wesley, and a grandson, Linus.

Director of Music Ministries

Jim Walsmith is the director of music ministries

Jim Walsmith, a native of Indiana, began playing the organ for church services at just 15 years old. While still in high school, he started organ studies at Ball State University, earning a bachelor’s in organ performance. He continued his education under Wilma Jensen at Scarritt College in Nashville, earning a master’s in sacred music. Jim also completed a master’s degree in applied psychology through the University of Arkansas system.

Jim has served as the organist-choirmaster for United Methodist and Episcopal congregations in Indiana, Arkansas, and Tennessee throughout his career. He has organized choral pilgrimages to England, Scotland, and Ireland. In addition to his musical contributions, Jim is a diaconal minister in the United Methodist Church. He also taught fine arts for many years in the Memphis City-Shelby County school system before his well-deserved retirement.
